Time travel.

To travel in time,
to move back and forth between
then, now and maybe
that is what I yearn to do

not to change things -
to break the past or
recreate today
but to be able to be with you
again, one last time
or to know what it was like
again, before I left

to be able to be there
where I am needed most
or least expected to be
to show my face
to give you a hug
or a kick in the pants
or just to watch the world go by
as we sit and drink a coffee

to be able to see you now
and be with you even though
my choices led me here;
and yours, kept you there.
