You

I'm holding on to the knowledge that I am right

I feel your anger building, frustration burning through your veins

I dodge the punch, the kick connects,

Training from careers gone by kicks in,

I deflect, restrain and wait...

I wait for you to be you again, 

For the frustrated anger to pass

And for you to hear me

And to understand why I said "no"

All the while my heart breaks,

Not because I'm embarrassed that we're in public,

Not because you look too old to be doing this, 

But because I love you and sometimes I don't recognise you.
