It takes a fair bit to get me to say "What The Hell!" out loud and without an appreciative audience. But this article would have made me spit coffee on my netbook, had I been drinking any at the time. Thanks to Free Range Kids for highlighting it...
Coffee is BANNED from a mother's group. (capitals are mine own)Basically, the health and safety gurus decided that hot drinks and little ones don't mix well and blanket-banned the drinks so as to prevent injuries/burns/scalds. Worst part is that in the five years the group has been there, no child has been hurt.
All I can think is that if that had happened to my coffee group, some of us would have been hospitalised for mental breakdowns... On the worst of the dark days, that cup of coffee (really bad coffee) at Twinkle Toes saved my sanity and Monkey's.
I work in a cafe and we give mums with small kids a takeaway cup and stick it in the middle of the table.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a coffee drinker, but I think specific measures can be done to keep kids safe and still have your hot drink. Just to blanket-ban it doesn't seem fair.
