Bring on the snow...

We are heading up to Lake Taupo for a long weekend. It's going to be great to get away from it all and especially for Stud1 to get away from work...

That's right it's his company's KickOff - a weekend away for all staff from all four branches held at the gorgeous Wairakei Resort.


An all-expenses paid two night getaway for the whole family. There are children's parties, family activities and grown up parties along with a bit of business. They have even organised babysitters for the evening events!

We are taking two extra nights up there just to make the most of the area and because I don't know if we can make the five hour drive in five hours with Monkey... The other unknown variable is the snow - the direct route goes via the Desert Road. It is often shut due to road-level snowfall. Fingers crossed we get through without the delay.


It's going to be a good break before we build up for the move to Sydney which is looking firmer as the days go by.
