On this the eve of your third birthday

The many faces of Monkey.

Dear Monkey,

On this the eve of your third birthday, I am listening to you and Daddy laughing about something as he tucks you into bed. You've told me you love me to the moon and back and have cuddled me so tight that we fell over and had to call the ambulance to help us.

You asked me for a special nose kiss and gave me one in return. 

I cannot believe you will be three tomorrow. It seems like yesterday that Daddy and I were wishing you would hurry up and arrive! Then we wanted you to reach your milestones and you did (QUICKLY) and now I wish I could pause time.

I'm not sure what to say to you about the last year. You learned to talk clearly and now you are rarely quiet. You can climb and run and jump. You have learned to be sensible and know your limits. You are brave!

You are confident and have an amazingly active imagination. You are compassionate, loving and gentle. You are inquisitive, intelligent and are able to learn things so easily. You persevere with things that are tricky and don't give up easily. You can be stubborn and loud but it just adds to your character. You have a contagious laugh - just like your Daddy. You light up a room, just by being in it.

You are my darling baby boy and I am so proud to be your mummy.

I love you Monkey, to the moon and back!
