Earthquake in Christchurch.

At 12:51 this afternoon a 6.3 quake struck at a depth of 5km... The destruction is huge and the television coverage is raw and unedited. It feels very similar to watching 9/11 happening... Surreal and horrifyingly sad at the same time... (I am waiting for the credits to roll!)

I have felt close to tears all afternoon.

I don't know many people in Christchurch but a lot of the Kiwi Mummy Bloggers are from there and I hope they are all safe and that their loved ones are safe too.

We are fine, didn't even feel the quake here but I am still worried and concerned that it could happen here...

Kia Kaha Christchurch!

  1. we didnt feel it either
but I have extended family members down there

I was working when I heard about it
had 2 clients almost in tears on me
I knew that my older sons cousin was in hospital with her sick baby
who happened to be premature too
I kept telling myself they would be ok there
(however I later learnt that it was evacuated)
they were actually released as the baby is getting better and was suppose to be sent home yesterday anyway

when I got home I did cry
my sister n law was ok but shes still waiting for her daughter and the baby to get home
