Unexpected Side Effects

Those of you who have been reading my ramblings regularly, will know that in an effort to get smaller I am only cooking with meat three times a week.

Last week it was mince and sausage. This week it was mussels at Leeuven in Wellington as a special treat. Sadly my favourite platter wasn't on the menu any more but that is beside the point. Last night we had ham rolls and corn on the cob.

Today we had a naughty day (it is my birthday after all!) ham on the bone, garlic bread, cauliflower/broccoli cheese and baked potatoes and caramel slice for afternoon tea.

Now getting to the point of the whole thing... this weekend I have been feeling sluggish, sick and my tummy is not a happy camper... It would appear that I (and Stud1) are functioning better on the low fat, low meat diet. Rich foods just aren't agreeing with us. I'm not complaining about it, I am more amazed at how quickly our eating habits changed.

I am rather proud of our changes! Well done us!

  3. Ok, I'll post more of them. I'm slightly embarrassed as they aren't really recipes. Just things I through in a pot and stir. :D

  4. Cooking meat three times a week won't help much, proteins are essential in the diet. Try cutting carbohydrates supply.
